My 22 month old

Things I love about my 22 month old:

1. How he says "Bess you, mommy" when anyone sneezes (even when he sneezes! )

2. How he looks at kids who are acting up and says "time out."

3. How he tries to hug every dog he sees.  (This has not worked well with "Bruiser", my sister's Chiuaua who is NOT a fan of Landon).  

4. How he lights up at the end of the day when daddy comes home.

5. How he points to flies and says "Gucky bug".

6. How he gives hugs to everyone!

7. How he tells me its "raining" when I run a wet comb through his hair!

8.  When he wraps his little arms around my neck and gives me hugs.  

Tribute to Michael Jackson

This is a tribute. Really. Sure, there may be 2 boys dancing the "white boy" but it is in response to the great music. Aaron always says that he'll teach Landon all of his dancing moves. ....I think that we may need to look into a few classes before he starts going to the middle school dances. Let's face it: there are just some things that can't be taught at home (for obvious reasons). But, enjoy the dancing and the music. Notice that Landon has a few advanced moves that must just be in his blood...maybe there is hope yet.

One is good...

...but two is better, for sure! When Landon's buddy, Sam (or "Sao" as Landon calls him) was finished with his popsicle, Landon decided to help him out. He's just thoughtful like that.

"Oh popsicle, how much do I love you? Let me count the ways..."

Fo' real?

In honor of Father's Day weekend, I decided that we would all have some family fun and go to the zoo on Saturday! We got all packed and ready to go--I had thought of everything! Yippee! As we know, an outing with Landon requires SEVERAL snacks and I was proud of myself for getting several somewhat healthy snacks together. I slathered him with sunscreen, got drinks for everyone, and grabbed the camera.....and we were off for our day of fun! Everything was going just splendidly as we arrived and did one of Landon's FAVORITE things: feed the birdies. We bought him a seed stick and happily, a hungry little bird found him right away! Just as he was feeding the bird, another bird flew up and landed on the top of Landon's head!!! After my initial gasp, I grabbed the camera to take a picture and only THEN did I realize that the batteries were dead! NAUGHTY, NAUGHTY words! It was a PRICELESS moment and I have no picture for it. It took Landon about 20 seconds to finally reach up to his head to see what was going on and then the bird flew away....and Landon started bawling! (A bit of a delayed reaction, I guess!) He continued to cry for a bit as everyone else around us came up and was laughing at what had happened! As hard as he cried, I know that if it had landed on MY head, I would have cried even harder. The little critters creep me out. We'll see if he wants to go feed the birdies at the zoo next time we're there. Here's a little reenactment from our zoo fiasco today:

Precious

We went to the zoo this past Monday and had such a fun day! Look at how cute the kids, (Landon with Graelyn & Gwen) are!

We had a picnic afterward which was so much fun! After Landon got done eating all of Gwen and Graelyn's chips and cookies, the kids ran around and played! I absolutely LOVE this picture. To me, it just shows the absolute joy of childhood!

Here is a video that is just so cute! The kids are obviously playing "Follow the Leader"...that is, until Landon found a bug! I love how he just sits down on the sidewalk to get a closer look!

Pathetic

Landon is obsessed with vacuums. He loves to ride on 'em and he loves to push 'em. Usually, he pushes it into the wall, baseboards, and anywhere else that is inconvenient. Some days I just want to scream "BUT DON'T YOU SEE the toy store that you have all over the house? WHY don't you play with your toys? WHY do you want the vacuum?" So, this a.m. I took the vacuum away and put it into a room and he completely melted. He was so pathetically cute though that I had to grab the camera! Here is the 2nd part of the meltdown:



One thing that I love about the video is how he is so upset over the vacuum and then randomnly starts asking about Elmo! (Sorry about the dark video. It really would be nice if he would only have these moments in the nicely lit areas...we'll work on that. )
