There is always Tide, right?!

The Ice Cream Man came by yesterday and we were playing in the front yard! Yippee! So, of course I had to introduce Big L to the joys of the Ice Cream Truck! It must be tough going for an Ice Cream Man these days because his truck was in need of a few hundred repairs but whatever; we supported him. Landon was lovin' it--see for yourself:

Can you believe how much the kid talks? I mean, just EAT THE ICE CREAM, Landon! It's MELTING!!!

Okay, you must be thinkin' that mommy had been drinking some afternoon Margaritas because WHY ELSE would I not realize that this wasn't such a good idea? That really would be my best 'excuse' but it just isn't true. I was just so excited to grab the camera that I forgot. But, on a positive note, here are a few things that I learned today:

1- Remove Landon's shirt before giving him ice cream(I don't think the pictures do it justice). Clearly, we will do this next time.

2 - Heck, just remove Big L's clothing before giving him the ice cream.....much better idea.

For Aunt Mary!

Aunt Mary, we've been working on a little something special for your birthday! Landon will often break into song for your birthday while I don't have the camera but he isn't always so cooperative when I want to get a video of him for you. Here are a few examples:

Now, I thought this one was going to be successful...until the end....

I have one more video to post but can't get it to transfer for some reason. I'll keep working on it!

Landon Language

In case any of you see Landon lately and don't understand what he is saying (like what happened to Angie earlier this week), here are a few tips on "Landon language:"

1 - Everything is preceded by the word "my." My got it. My running. My climb. My fahwrted. Yes, that is 'my farted." Nice.

2 - My byself = by myself. I would highly advise that you step back and let the kid do it himself. If you don't, holy you know what will break loose and you will be amazed at the kind of tantrum that can ensue. And don't say that I didn't warn you.

3 - The B.I.B.I. = Landon's favorite song, his new obsession. He has to hear it EVERY day, about 20 times per day (and that is limiting it). It is the song "The B - I - B - L - E" (you know, the
B - I - B - L - E, yes that's the book for me....) If you don't know it, call me and I'll give you a tutorial. You won't make it through 10 minutes without knowing it.

4 - Cheese Roni = Macaroni and Cheese

5 - "Show me" (as he takes your hand and brings you to what he wants you to see) = "let me show you" what I am talking about so you can help me.

6 - Me have some now = I want to eat (whatever it is that he sees) now. And just so you know, "now" means PRONTO. Tout de suite. Ahorita. At this very moment. At once. IMMEDIATELY.

Grapefest fun!

We went to Grapefest today. It's been a long time since I've been to a festival; however, today was a good day to go since we finally got a break in our 40 days of rain and we were ready to get out of the arc. So, off we went. Off to battle the long lines, the crowded streets, the fried food smell, the little brats (not our kids, of course!)running amuck, kids hyped up on sugar, the women in the purple hat club, and the men in their tank tops. We even saw one cowboy wearing his tight Wranglers, hat and boots holding his wife's purse as she was in the bathroom. Classic. It was good times with good friends. It was, that is, until about 7:30 p.m.and the meltdowns began....but we won't go there. Here we are, BEFORE 7:30...

Gwen and Big L with Angie's mom

Getting ready for a "bitecycle wide"

Of course, Landon had to get his face painted with a football. It was cute--until he rubbed his cheek and it looked like a big pile of poo, that is.

Landon's 2 girlfriends, Gwen and Graelyn. He can't decide which one he likes best. How could you?!

Going for a "wide on da choo choo". Good times.

And then Landon and Gwen went again, it was so fun! Fun, that is, until it is the last "wide". Getting Landon to leave was no easy task. Not even the mention of dinner was enough to stop the meltdown...

A bit jerky but the kids loved it. I thought the train was going to fall off of the track every time it went around a corner...
