Funny Boy....

Landon just cracks me up!  This morning, this was our conversation:

Me: Landon, what did you dream about last night?
L: Um, I dreamed about rainbows, cookies, Daddy, and eating food.
Me:Wow!  That's great....but what about Mommy?  Did you dream about Mommy?"
L: Oh yeah, I dreamed about Mommy too.  And Star Wars.  That's all.  That's it...okay, Mommy?!

He also is very confused about one song on our Veggie Tales CD.  It begins like this:
...so when I'm lying in my bed,
and I'm feeling kind of sleepy...

Every time Landon will stop and say "We DON'T tell lies, Mommy--that is BAD."  I have tried to explain the context of the song and what it means but it is just over his head.  So instead, EVERY time the song comes on, I get to listen to telling me about lying.

Sweet Faces!

Here are a few assorted pictures from the last few weeks!

The exercise that I did REALLY wore Presley out!!!  : )

Yes, she put Landon's helmet on herself.  I love that she even remembered to take off her bow!!!

Ring Around The Rosie

Landon and Presley have been playing very well together lately! Presley ADORES her brother and tries to copy everything he does! Every morning, I hear Landon saying on the monitor "MOMMY! It's time to get up! It's daytime! I want to play with my baby sistah!"

Sick

On Friday, Landon got the flu. He was miserable all day and he "threwed up" a lot...on the floor, in the toilet, in a bowl, and oh yeah, on me.  On Sunday, Daddy got sick. Then, on Monday, I got sick....not a very fun weekend in our house!

Oh, so dramatic!!!!

Luckily, we happen to know a Dr. Stormtrooper that makes house calls!  He made sure that Daddy was all right.

When the Doctor prescribed rest for Daddy, we went to the park.

Who doesn't love a Stormtrooper in Froggy boots?!

Tommy and Presley had fun playing together!!! How sweet are they?!

Words

Presley is talking so much! She knows words that I didn't even know she knew!! For example, we went to Target the other day and she looked at me and said "Coo-kie!" She has picked up on the fact that when we go there, she gets a cookie from the Bakery! How quickly they learn! The funniest thing that she does lately is when she,um, passes gas, she will look at me and say "TOOO-OOT!"

Our Elf On The Shelf

I was particularly frustrated with a very naughty Landon the other day. After several different consequences that didn't seem to be making an impact, I remembered our "Elf On The Shelf." As a last ditch effort, I pulled out the Elf and we read the story. The Elf is Santa's helper who watches little boys and girls and then flies back to the North Pole every night after the kids are in bed and reports to Santa all of the good or bad things the kids have done. He flies back to the house before morning and hides in another spot in the house so the children have to find him! Landon decided to name our Elf "Jake Christmas Boy." He is SO motivated to be good! He has been helpful, he gives his sister lots of kisses and hugs, and he is a better listener. He still is difficult at times, of course, but usually snaps out of it when we mention that Jake is going to report back to Santa (which REALLY bothered him the 1st night we got him out because Landon knew how difficult he had been ALL day. He asked me "Can't Jake Christmas Boy just stay here tonight and not fly back to da North Pole? I don't want him to go see Santa today.") Now, I guess Jake Christmas Boy is going to have to travel to Florida with us and also to Michigan. I'm also thinking that Jake Christmas Boy might have to make an earlier appearance next year....like maybe the 4th of July or so. : )
