….would be easier than trying to get a 1 year old to sit through story time at the library. That’s right, in a moment of sheer parental genius, I decided it was a fabulous time to take Landon to Toddler Story Time at our local library. I had heard about it from a mom who said that she had taken her daughter since she was 9 or 10 months old. She said it was great and that even though at first she didn’t think her daughter would sit still, her daughter totally surprised her and LOVED story time. So, figuring that the story reader would have some sort of magic spell cast over Landon (and envisioning a nice 30 minute bonding moment where Landon would sit and snuggle in my lap while listening to the story…yeah, I guess I AM delusional), we went. Go ahead and laugh because you all know that we were in there less than 8 minutes before I had to gather him up and leave amidst the looks of other the other mommies. I can look back and think “WHAT WAS I THINKING?” He’s far too busy to sit for 5 minutes, let alone 30.
Mommy temporarily lost her mind.

Does this look like a baby that can sit still?

Yeah, I tried that with my boys too. I think you lasted longer than I did.
Ha ha! Yeah, Ryan just kept getting up and down and waving books around the first time I took him. I'm taking him again tomorrow (gulp).
When I took Margaret she stood up during the story with her back to the audience/face to the reader, bent over at the waist/buns in the air, looked through her legs and yelled out, "Hiiiii Mommy!!" and waved through the crack between her legs.
that's the funniest thing ever...when I took Gwen, she sat and listened but didn't enjoy it because the reader SUCKED! That should be MY job lady...that's what I wanted to say to her...we weren't at the library though, Barnes and Noble...wonder what they get paid...
Okay, you are all making me feel SO much better. : ) This lady was good and did songs with motions and everything which is probably why we lasted 7 1/2 minutes. I'm not going back for a while...at least until I have my prescription for Ritalin.
KIDDING, PEOPLE. Kidding...(kind of)...
y'all are cracking me up! And Landon is looking like such a little boy all of a sudden! (as opposed to looking like a baby...NOT as opposed to looking like a little girl...just want to clear that up)
