Landon turned 18 months this past week so I decided to go get his 18 month pictures taken (or "made" as you Texans would say). It was a bit last minute but the morning I called the studio, they had an appointment. YIPPEE!! So, I got Landon all decked out and he was looking extra cute, I must say. He had on a brand new powder blue shirt with some really cute Khakis and brown shoes. I even thought to put his light jacket over his shirt in case he drooled or something because I was just thinking of EVERYTHING that morning. So, off we went....and only 3 minutes after my scheduled "target departure time." Sweet. Everything was really going smoothly. We didn't get stuck behind a train. YEE-HAW! That is always a bonus. We made it threw the lights with ease! YES! This WAS my day! It was just a fine morning and Landon and I (okay, just me) were singing along with the "Kid's Praise" cd. Not only was everything perfect but I was pulling into the parking lot with FOUR minutes to spare before the appointment time. Seriously...what a FABULOUS day! BUT, then I heard it....the sound of Landon vomitting. Before I turned around I naively thought that maybe, possibly, he didn't get it on his pants or if he did, we could somehow camouflage it. Negative. BIG negative.
After cleaning him up, I managed to scrounge together an outfit with an extra pair of pants that I keep in the diaper bag and a shirt I brought for an outfit change. We got a few pictures taken and the sweet boy was fine the rest of the day. However, almost as tramatic (for me) as the initial clean up was having to put Landon BACK into his nasty carseat for the ride home....with the vomit smell all of the way.
Next time I have decided that I won't dress Landon until we get to the studio. So, if you see a woman walk into a portrait studio with a naked baby, chances are it's me.

ick friend, ick...I can't believe he was sweet for the pictures! He really is a camera boy!! I tried to comment earlier but it wouldn't let me do it at school:) I guess it was telling me to GET TO WORK!
I cannot believe you STILL WENT IN FOR THE PICTURES!!! I totally would have called them and said that my kid just threw up in the car...we're gonna have to reschedule!
And, I probably would have thrown up on Landon myself had I had to smell the vomit-in-the-car smell upon returning from the picture shoot.
Just so you know...that's how I would have handled it!
Well, I probably would have but it was in Colleyville. I was SOOOOO grossed out by ALL of the vomit (there was a ton--remember, Landon is a big eater, therefore...) that I couldn't just let him sit in it in his seat. So, I had to go inside to get paper towel and then decided that I would change his clothes. When I did that and cleaned him up, he was very happy! So, the lady said "Why don't we just try a few shots?" I agreed....but I was VERY nervous when they brought out the big teddy bear. I was worried the 2nd round would start...but all was good!
Yes, I did almost throw up from the vomit smell on the way home. Thank the Lord that it was a nice day and we could have ALL of the windows down on the way home! :)
