So, I'm not the bravest person when it comes to bugs or anything creepy crawly. But, when your sweet boy looks up at you with those big brown eyes because he wants the Preying Mantis (who he named "Coco"), what is a mom to do? So I tried to act brave and caught the bug....with a BIG net! After my big capture, Landon "played" with it for the length of the video...and then he was over it. My "brave boy" wasn't brave enough to lift the lid to let her go! Again, I had to "cowgirl up" as they say in Texas! I'm such a big idiot that when we saw poor Coco the next day, I was suckered into catching her AGAIN. Am I smart enough to learn? NOPE! I did it and it had the same result = fascinating for 1.5 minutes. The kid is lucky that he didn't wake up with it in his bed. I thought about it....seriously. The problem then would be that then Coco would be in the house and that was too much for me. I hope Coco is smart enough to have gone to the neighbor's yard!
