Things I have learned...

Okay, here are a few things that I have learned living in Texas:

1. Today, Ms. Kathy was playing “pee pie” with Landon. Turns out that “pee pie” is “peek-a-boo.” Hmm…who knew?
2. Every road in Texas has a minimum of 3 names. Apparently, this is just to keep things interesting.
3. Everyone here loves Sonic….and the “Sonic ice.” I don’t know…it’s a big deal.
4. I really like the “yes ma’am / yes sir” thing.
5. Bugs really ARE bigger in Texas.
6. "Awl" is really just a Texan trying to say “oil.”
7. “You might could” is like saying “you could” or “you might”, I guess in Texas they figure that putting both of them together really emphasizes it….so “you might could.”

You are so funny! I think the pee-pie thing is an all over Southern thing...my friend from North Carolina said that people say that where she is from as well. That's weird to me.

You know, I had NO idea what Ms. Kathy was saying to him! I actually thought that she was just trying to get his attention. I guess I must have had a kind of blank look on my face b/c she goes "Oh, you're from up north--you have no idea what that means." And she was right....wouldn't have guessed that one in a million years! : )

So funny. I can't wait to play pee-pie with Landon tonight.

My husband's side of the family originates from Texas and they all do that "pee-pie" thing. It took me awhile to get used to it, too!

LOL about the "awl"/"oil" pronunciation. So true!

LOL! It's "Peep Eye." Too funny.

Oh, and Rob has complained about the road thing, too.

And finally, DO NOT KNOCK THE SONIC ICE, DAMMIT. Or else I might could come over and sock you in the peep eye.

LMAO! WHAT? It's PEEP EYE? I guess that makes SOOOOO much more sense. Pee pie was really throwing me. Thanks for setting me straight!

Look at my friend Leesa commenting on KJ's blog!! Go Leesa!! :) Leesa is pregnant with her THIRD girl and due in September. She's keeping the baby's name under wraps so I'll have to keep you all informed when I finally bug it out of her!

Rebekah-why are you commenting at 9:36 a.m.? Are you skipping church today? Not to worry--we already went, just so you know. I'm a little concerned about you though...

Oooooo, KJ...good catch!! I bet Bek was skipping Sunday School and just going to church at 10:30 for the big service. She does that sometimes when/if Mary is sleeping. I, on the other hand, did skip church. I'm on vacation, darnit. We figured if we were out of town we'd be skipping as well. We're trying to cram as much stuff in a four and a half day period as possible.

Hey--no fair you looking at the posting time! Yes, Sarah was right. I was skipping Sunday School as I do every week since I need Mary to take some sort of nap in the morning or it's a complete waste for me to go to church because she is crying the whole time since she is so tired. And, she hates the nursery. And, she hates everyone except me so I am with her all the time. Have I mentioned that I am taking her with me on a business trip this week for 5 days? AUGH!!!!!
